Nourish Kidney & Enrich Essence,  Moisten Lung & Nourish Yin

Product Knowledge

Hasma is derived from the fat surrounding the ovaries of female frogs of the species known as "Rana Chensinensis" (also called "Chinese Brown Frog" or "Snow Frog"). It has been consumed in China for millennia and was designated as a royal tribute during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Prior to entering hibernation each winter, Snow Frogs consume and store sufficient nutrients to accumulate high levels of vitamins and fat in their bodies, enabling them to hibernate for up to five months. Consequently, Hasma is rich in various proteins, amino acids, and trace elements, making it a valuable and historic nourishing supplement.

Benefits

Delay aging, Promote cell division, Enhance immunity, Regulate blood lipids

Delay Aging
The collagen, amino acids, and nucleic acids extracted from fully hydrated Hasma can boost skin tissue metabolism, prevent pigment deposition, and render the skin smooth and delicate. They achieve the effects of beautifying and rejuvenating the skin, as well as delaying aging.

Promote Cell Division
Hasma is abundant in epidermal growth factors, promoting smooth and bright skin as well as enhancing cellular regeneration.

Enhance Immunity
Hasma is rich in hormone-mimicking compounds like estrone and octanone-like substances. These compounds have assimilative hormonal effects, effectively modulating hormone levels in menopausal women and alleviating symptoms such as palpitations, weakness, dizziness, fatigue, and irritability. Additionally, they boost the synthesis of proteins, particularly immunoglobulins, thereby strengthening the body's immune system and resistance to disease.

Regulate Blood Lipids
Hasma is abundant in 'unsaturated fatty acids', which efficiently decrease the levels of harmful cholesterol and triglycerides in the bloodstream. This helps regulate blood lipid levels, boost high-density lipoprotein (HDL) levels, and offers significant benefits for preventing cardiovascular diseases and enhancing endocrine function.

Origins

The Chinese Brown Frog, predominantly found in northeastern China, contains, as determined by modern scientific analysis, 18 amino acids, frog sterols, unsaturated fatty acids, nucleic acids, phospholipid compounds, various vitamins, and multiple trace elements essential for the human body in its Hasma. Since Hasma is predominantly composed of fat, individuals with weakened spleen and stomach function should consume it in moderation.

Habitat
Hasma, primarily sourced from northeastern China, including provinces such as Heilongjiang, Jilin, and Liaoning, is particularly well-known for its production in Jilin Province.

1 The Chinese Brown Frog primarily inhabits terrestrial habitats, preferring moist and cool environments devoid of intense sunlight, and sustaining itself on a diet of diverse insects.

02 Between late September and early October, Chinese Brown Frog migrate from forested hillsides to the proximity of streams and ditches, subsequently entering the water in groups to hibernate. A minority seek shelter in mud or beneath tree roots to overwinter, emerging again around the time of the Qingming Festival the subsequent year.

Craftsmanship

01 Air-Drying Method:
Traditionally, Brown Frog are hung on wooden racks and allowed to dry in the sun for a period of 7 to 10 days. Once dried, they are sliced open to extract the oil, which takes on a block-like form and is of superior quality. This type of oil is termed 「連體油」.

02 Live Extraction Technique for Oil:
Xian Oil(線油) represents a novel extraction method that has come into prominence in recent times. This involves extracting oil directly from live Chinese Forest Frog and subsequently drying the oil. The process of live extraction eliminates the risk of secondary pollution, resulting in oil that is pristine, devoid of impurities and unwanted odors, and highly practical. Xian Oil is typically preferred in southern regions, whereas northern areas tend to favor block-form oil.

Shape
They are irregularly shaped blocks, twisted and layered on top of each other. The larger specimens can measure up to approximately 3 centimeters in length.

Appearance
The surface exhibits a yellow or light brown hue, resembling the sheen of fat, and may occasionally be adorned with a thin, grayish-white dry layer that feels smooth yet slightly greasy to the touch.

Texture
The texture is not very hard, and it is easy to break (Hasma with slight moisture will not break). After breaking, it becomes blocky, and a grayish-white fatty film-like substance can be seen at the fracture of the fragments.

遇水膨脹情況
冷水浸泡,體積可膨脹40——60倍左右,呈棉絮、雲朵狀,彈性較好。

Smell
It carries a fishy aroma and a subtle sweetness in taste. Authentic Hasma retains its integrity even after extended soaking—48 hours poses no issue. Conversely, fake Hasma turns murky and blends indistinguishably with water after 48 hours, dissolving predominantly into the liquid.
